Below you will find my newest unit that is available in my TPT and TN store:
This includes seatwork that accompanies Theme 9 Week 2 of Houghton Mifflin but can be used in first grade with any stories. The skills in this unit includes base words / plurals with the spellings –es and –ies. It tells the students when to use each spelling.
It also includes the prefixes un- and re- and explains what this means. Students sort words by the prefixes and then write sentences to show that they understand what the word means. (Example: how would they write the word unwrap in a sentence?)
Another worksheet asks students to brainstorm words that are synonyms of given words. This is best as a review since it does not explicitly teach synonyms.
Finally there are two worksheets for Story Structure. One is one sided and another is a manipulative that you can fold open and closed. Directions can be found here.
